"Hello Me?"

I struggled as a child to find words. I was cast aside and given up on by many adults and teachers. They assumed because I did not speak that I was deficient and therefore not worth their time. Little did they know that I was absorbing everything they said, learning on my own and growing a lasting resentment for all authority that felt they knew better without ever listening. I kept quiet and continued to paint pictures of the better world I wanted, waiting for my time to reclaim my place in mine.

When I started this project I had no idea that it would flourish to the series that it is today. I embarked on this journey by acknowledging my largest traumas and then choosing to express them through art as a way to heal my inner self. These art pieces slowly became a healing journey for me to fight my way through the demons blocking me. 

​

Now after years of healing I am finally able to stake my flag in the ground and show the world who I really am. With both the art that conveys my emotions, and the words that I could never find before. 

​

I hope that you can relate to these pieces in your own way, and find peace in laying the past to rest as you venture forth into your true colors.
